Synopsis: Based on the novel by E.M. Forster, Maurice is set in pre-World War I England and examines the social repression of a college student dealing with his homosexuality. Maurice studied at Cambridge where he meets and falls in love with Clive Durham. Under pressure from his family Durham marries, but Maurice finally consummates his inclinations wtih Durham's gamekeeper Skudder. A gay love story that transcends wealth and class.
